NFIB To Illinois Senate: “Small Businesses Need Relief, NOT More Red Tape”

NFIB Illinois released a statement about SB 1976 and how it will impact small businesses

National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Illinois’ leading small business advocacy organization, released the following statement after the Illinois Senate passed Senate Bill 1976 that will put Main Street businesses at a disadvantage.

SB 1976 requires Illinois agencies to adopt rolled-back federal workplace regulations and incorporate them into the state’s administrative code. The proposal will create additional red tape, costs, and legal uncertainty for Illinois’ small-business community.

“SB 1976 will put an additional layer of red tape on Illinois small businesses,” said NFIB Illinois State Director Noah Finley. “Illinois small businesses need regulatory relief, not more red tape. Illinois must find ways to make running a business in Illinois easier, not harder.”
