NFIB Response to Gov. Reynolds Condition of the State Address

January 9, 2024 Last Edit: July 20, 2024

We look forward to working with Gov. Reynolds, her staff, and the Iowa Legislature to make these additional income tax cuts a reality this legislative session.

DES MOINES, Iowa. (Jan. 9, 2024) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the below statement from NFIB Iowa State Director Matt Everson following Governor Kim Reynolds’s Condition of the State address:

“On behalf of NFIB’s more than 12,000 small business members in Iowa, we want to thank Gov. Kim Reynolds for her continued commitment to lowering Iowa’s income tax rates. We have seen over recent history that the best way to grow the small business economy is to let small business owners and their employees keep more of their hard-earned money. We look forward to working with Gov. Reynolds, her staff, and the Iowa Legislature to make these additional income tax cuts a reality this legislative session.”

Everson recently co-published an op-ed in the Des Moines Register supporting Gov. Reynolds’ plan to eliminate Iowa’s income tax. Read the op-ed here.
