NFIB NH Endorses 15 State Senate Candidates This Week

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(CONCORD, NH) Oct. 12, 2022 – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy group, announced today that its NFIB NH PAC has endorsed 15 State Senate candidates in New Hampshire.

NFIB NH PAC Board Chair Ray Pinard said, “the endorsements of these 15 State Senate candidates were based on voting records, issue surveys, and facts demonstrating these candidates understand small business issues and they have the backs of small business owners in the state of New Hampshire.”

Pinard continued, “the last two years have not been easy for anyone, but small business has been particularly hit hard, and if not for the votes and views of these 15 State Senate candidates, business conditions could have been worse. NFIB NH’s goals for the next two years include showing improvements in New Hampshire’s labor force and in energy rates.”

“With energy prices soaring and record setting inflation coming from Washington, it is more important than ever New Hampshire voters elect State Senators who understand the crippling impacts these additional financial burdens would have on a small business,” said Pinard. “These 15 candidates do understand it because they have made the tough votes, walked in small business owners’ shoes, or have been small business leaders in their own communities. They can be counted on to maintain favorable economic policies for small businesses, the backbone of the New Hampshire economy.”

“From Coos to the Sea,” said Pinard, “mandates like a $15 minimum wage and a costly one-size-fits-all mandatory leave policy would have crushed small business owners throughout the state. Fortunately, these Senate leaders have held firm against these exorbitant and expensive programs that would kill jobs and close businesses.”

“With business cost drivers debated in Concord every year and Main Streets across the Granite State not knowing what tax or mandate is coming next, NFIB and its 1500 New Hampshire members can count on these 15 State Senate candidates to keep a lid on spending, taxes, costly mandates, and regulations,” said Pinard.

“And most importantly,” Pinard stated, “these leaders know how devastated our economy would be today if a state income or sales tax was enacted into law. These 15 State Senate candidates will not allow a final blow like a broad based tax to pass.”

Pinard concluded, “Growing our state’s economy and creating opportunities for good paying jobs will continue to be NFIB’s top priority in New Hampshire. Enacting tax relief and reducing regulations will empower our small businesses to grow and create jobs for Granite Staters.”

NFIB’s PAC endorsement process is based on voting records, candidate surveys. and membership input that all focuses on issues that are critical to operating a business in New Hampshire.
