NFIB Minnesota To Governor Walz: “Don’t Leave Out Small Businesses”

NFIB Minnesota To Governor Walz: “Don’t Leave Out Small Businesses”

April 24, 2025

NFIB Minnesota will continue fighting for pro-small business policies

NFIB Minnesota State Director Jon Boesche released the following statement after Governor Tim Walz’s State of the State Address to the Legislature.

“Governor Walz’s State of the State speech failed to acknowledge the reality that small businesses statewide are currently facing. Rather than offering solutions to improve Minnesota’s business climate, he spent much of his speech attacking the federal government. Instead of proposing relief from burdensome mandates and excessive taxes, he doubled down on his support for the policies that are hindering Main Street from growing and investing in our communities. If Governor Walz truly wants a stronger Minnesota, he must prioritize the needs of small businesses, which are the backbone of our communities.”

Earlier this month, Minnesota was ranked 41st in the United States in the American Legislative Exchange Council’s (ALEC) 2025 Rich States, Poor States Report. This places the state in the bottom ten of the rankings for its economic outlook.
