Small business owners connected with Minnesota lawmakers on economic issues
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Minnesota’s leading small business advocacy organization, recently hosted its annual Small Business Day at our NEW office in St. Paul. The event brought together small business owners from across the state with State Senator Rich Draheim and Representative Dave Baker.
“NFIB’s Small Business Day is the best opportunity for small business owners to share concerns with lawmakers and advocate for their businesses,” said NFIB Minnesota State Director Jon Boesche. “The Minnesota Legislature needs to hear from Main Street, the backbone of our economy, especially as they consider potential reforms to harmful mandates and work to address the state’s deteriorating budget situation. I’m grateful to Senator Draheim and Representative Baker for joining us and showing their continued support for small business.”
Sen. Draheim and Rep. Baker are NFIB members who have a solid record of supporting pro-small business policies. NFIB also updated the attendees on key issues like Paid Family Medical Leave and the projected budget deficit. They also provided an update on the 20% small business deduction and the Corporate Transparency Act.
This event was sponsored by Cigna and Hill Capitol Associates.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
