NFIB Member Event—Small Business Leadership Day in Sacramento

NFIB Member Event—Small Business Leadership Day in Sacramento

March 16, 2026

Come join your fellow small business owners, May 4 & 5, at the State Capitol

The voices of small business owners are the most highly valued by elected officials, and the messages those voices deliver are never forgotten when delivered in person.

On May 4 and 5, NFIB California is hosting an advocacy day for its members, and we’d love to see you there. The event is free. All you would have to pay for is your transportation and lodging. Advance registration is required.

Because no one knows the importance of managing their time better than a small business owner, we’ve kept Leadership Day compact and concise to the issues of concern to Main Street now.

It begins Monday, May 4, with a networking reception and dinner, followed the next day, Tuesday, May 5, with meetings with legislators, the main program, and wrapping up with a happy hour.

There’s a lot going on. Should the gas tax be repealed? Will the state ever pay off its unemployment insurance loan from the federal government? Does CEQA need further reforming to enable housing construction to kick into high gear? What’s happening with the latest regulations from the California Air Resources Board? Will they choke small business survival? Prop. 13? Retail Theft? What’s on your mind?

Send any questions you might have to NFIB Grassroots Manager Matthew Woolley by clicking his name. To get a flavor of what Leadership Day is about, check out this brief report on last year’s event.
