NFIB Launches Radio, Digital Ad Campaign Warning of Small Business Tax Hikes

March 17, 2025

Main Street will pay more if the 20% Small Business Deduction is allowed to expire in December

NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today launched a statewide radio and digital ad campaign urging Congress to stop a massive tax hike on small businesses. The campaign highlights the significant consequences small businesses will face if Congress fails to make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent.

“The 20% Small Business Tax Deduction, created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017,  has allowed millions of small business owners to expand, hire employees, increase wages, and invest in their communities,”NFIB Louisiana State Director Leah Long said.

“Without action from Congress, this deduction will expire at the end of the year and could skyrocket Louisiana’s small business tax rate to 42.6%,” she said. “Making this deduction permanent will protect small businesses and help level the playing field with their larger corporate competitors.”

NFIB’s campaign encourages small business owners and advocates to contact their representatives in Washington to urge immediate legislative action. With hundreds of thousands of Louisiana small businesses at risk, NFIB is working to ensure policymakers understand the consequences of inaction and take the necessary steps to protect small businesses and the economy.
