NFIB Kicks Off Unemployment Insurance Media Campaign

NFIB Kicks Off Unemployment Insurance Media Campaign

March 31, 2025

"Beacon Hill broke the unemployment system…Beacon Hill should fix it."

On Monday, NFIB kicked off a statewide issue campaign with radio and digitals ads asserting that since Beacon Hill broke the unemployment system…Beacon Hill should fix it. For too long lawmakers relied on small business owners like you to fund a broken UI system, so we are calling on them to make meaningful reforms on eligibility and benefits, while also using Rainy Day funds to help pay down the $2.1 billion owed to the federal government for the state’s colossal error.

We urge all NFIB members to take action by visiting protectmassachusettssmallbusiness.org and clicking the “take action” button. Tell your elected officials it is their responsibility to fix our overly generous UI benefits and lax eligibility requirements. We also ask that you share this site with fellow business owners so that they can also join in the effort.

Please take a moment to list to our Unemployment Insurance Radio Ad demanding the state fix their $2.1 billion mistake and not simply pass the cost to small businesses again.

Enough is enough… you already pay some of the highest UI taxes in the nation, are repaying $2.7 billion for pandemic related layoffs, and being charged another $2.1 billion because the state made a massive error. It’s time Beacon Hill finally take action on long overdue unemployment insurance reforms!
