NFIB Illinois State Director Participated in Springfield Small Business Forum

September 4, 2025

The forum focused on how small businesses can protect themselves from costly lawsuits

Illinois State Director Noah Finley attended a small-business forum in Springfield and participated in a panel discussion on small-business advocacy.

The panel primarily focused on recent expansions of employers’ civil liability and exposure to frivolous lawsuits and discussed ways business owners can get involved in the legislative process to protect their businesses from expensive lawsuits.

Finley highlighted the recent push in the Illinois General Assembly to grant so-called “interested parties” the right to sue employers.

The panel discussion was part of a small business forum organized by Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) that brought together small-business owners from across Springfield.
