NFIB Illinois: “A Lot of Work to Do” for Small Business

February 19, 2025

NFIB Illinois will continue fighting for pro-small business policies

NFIB Illinois State Director Noah Finley released the following statement after Governor J.B. Pritzker’s State of the State Address to the General Assembly.

“Illinois has a lot of work to do,” said Finley. “As a state, our employment rate, economic growth, and wage gains trail the U.S. and the Midwest. Iowa is lowering business taxes. Illinois is not. Wisconsin has a $4 billion budget surplus. Illinois does not.

Finley continued, “Main Street businesses continue to struggle with inflation, workforce shortages, and high health insurance costs. Small businesses need relief, not platitudes. Illinois must get serious about addressing the tax and regulatory issues undercutting Main Street communities across the state.”
