The voice of small business was heard loud and clear at a February 24 news conference calling for a one-year suspension of the state’s gas tax by passing Assembly Bill 1745.

“The gas tax is currently at a nation-leading 61.2 cents per gallon,” reported Fox 40 News, which covered the event. “The average gallon of unleaded gas costs $4.62 per gallon, according to new data from AAA — $1.67 higher than the national average of $2.95.”

Representing NFIB at the news conference were Leadership Council Vice Chairman Jeff Pardini, third-generation owner of Hills Flat Lumber in Grass Valley (Nevada County), and Tim Taylor, NFIB California’s policy director. Photos of the event, including the one below of Pardini, can be found on the California Assembly Republicans Facebook page.

Other media covering the event included ABC 7 in Los Angeles and ABC 30 in Fresno.
