The event gave small business owners from across the commonwealth the chance to engage with elected leaders

Small business owners from across the commonwealth gathered in Richmond today for Business Day on the Hill.

The event was hosted by NFIB, the Virginia Retail Federation, the Virginia chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA), Richmond Area Municipal Contractors Association (RAMCA), and Hampton Roads Utility & Heavy Contractors Association.

The event gave small business owners that opportunity to engage with elected officials and speak out on the issues affecting their ability to grow and create jobs.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin spoke to the gathering about key issues including workforce development and easing the regulatory burden on small businesses. Youngkin applauded NFIB as “the voice of small business” and said, “When Virginia businesses thrive, Virginians thrive.”

Following the governor’s remarks, NFIB members and other attendees met

with their legislators to discuss a host of critical issues.

NFIB State Director Julia Hammond said, “Business Day on the Hill is an invaluable opportunity for small business owners to have their voices heard. Today’s event reinforced the critical role small businesses play in Virginia’s economy and gave our members the opportunity to drive home the need for policies that enable their growth and success.”
