Carlson has spent the past five years advancing government affairs initiatives at the state and national levels

The nation’s leading small-business association, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), today announced that Cody Carlson is their new State Director in Iowa. Carlson will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s state advocacy, operations, political engagement, communications, and programming on behalf of NFIB members across the state.
“Cody Carlson will be an excellent addition to the NFIB team,” said NFIB Regional Director Tim Nungesser. “Cody has an extensive background in government affairs and extensive knowledge of small business priorities. All of this will serve him well as he represents thousands of small businesses throughout Iowa.”
“I’m eager to once again lobby on behalf of Iowa entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said NFIB Iowa State Director Cody Carlson. “NFIB has an exceptional reputation for representing diverse small businesses and emphasizing the critical role that they play in our state. I’m looking forward to working with this team.”
Cody has spent the past five years advancing government affairs initiatives at the state and national levels in Iowa, steering policy initiatives across both the public and private sectors. Most recently, as Manager of Government Affairs for the Iowa League of Cities, he helped to pass proactive, small-government priorities in consecutive legislative sessions, including sweeping property tax reform.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
