Main Street Calls on Legislature to Deliver Tax Relief

February 21, 2024 Last Edit: July 19, 2024

TOPEKA (Feb. 21, 2024) – Following lawmakers’ failure to override Governor Laura Kelly’s veto of tax reform, NFIB State Director Dan Murray urged the Legislature to come together to pass tax relief for small business owners:

“Main Street cannot afford another session without tax relief. Kansas is sitting on a $3 billion surplus – money that belongs to the taxpayers. As our job creators continue to struggle amid persistent inflation and a worker shortage, politics is standing in the way of tax reform that would strengthen our economy. It’s time for lawmakers to come together and deliver meaningful relief.”
