LISTEN: U.S. Rep. Smucker, PA Small Business Owners Join NFIB’s Small Business Rundown Podcast

U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) joined NFIB’s Small Business Rundown podcast to discuss the 20% Small Business Deduction with NFIB members Wendy and Marci Bittner of LOSHAW Thermal Technology in Spring Grove. “If by the end of 2025, if we don’t extend [the Small Business Deduction] or make it permanent, it really would be a massive tax hike on small businesses,” said Rep. Smucker. Wendy and Marci Bittner explained how the Small Business Deduction has helped their small business: “Specifically for the last 7 years that it has been in place, we were able to buy a work van, a brand-new work van with air conditioning, a simple need we just couldn’t afford before. We’ve given employees bonuses, and we have 100% paid healthcare premiums for employees.” According to NFIB’s new tax study, making the Small Business Deduction permanent would create Pennsylvania jobs: 51,000 jobs each year for the first 10 years and 99,000 new jobs annually every year after that.
