Make your plan to vote ‘YES’ on Prop 9 today!
In two podcast interviews, NFIB Member Tim Green and NFIB State Director Jeff Burdett urged Texas voters to support Prop 9 , which raises the exemption for the business personal property tax (also known as the inventory tax) from $2,500 to $125,000.
Green and Burdett appeared on WFAA’s Y’all-itics, where they discussed how the inventory tax affects small business owners in Texas.
Green, who is a small business owner in Alvarado, said when it comes to tax relief, “every little bit helps.” He went on to describe how the tax savings would allow him to reinvest in his workforce, such as helping cover the cost of health insurance and cost-of-living increases.

Green and Burdett also joined NFIB’s “Small Business Rundown” with Region Director Dawn McVea. During the conversation, Burdett said:
“This is the first opportunity for us to get a significant increase in this exemption for 30 years. Since 1995 is when the $2,500 was put in. And so this is a really significant opportunity, and we’ve got to get it past the finish line. Like Tim said, we’re on the 2-yard line, but we really need our members to get out and vote for this and push this across the goal line.”
