Issues in Wisconsin So Far During 2023 Legislative Session

Work Schedule Mandate NFIB is opposed to legislation that mandates employers provide employees’ work schedule changes in writing at least fourteen days in advance.   Paid Sick Leave Mandates NFIB opposes legislation that would create a mandated paid family and medical leave program and allow local government to adopt ordinances that mandate paid sick leave.   Data Security Legislation will be introduced that establishes requirements for processing personal data of consumers.  NFIB will oppose legislation that shifts processing costs and creates language that encourages lawsuits against small business retailers related to data security.   Retail Theft Retailers report theft is on the rise costing retailers $100 billion a year, according to the National Retail Federation.  NFIB supports legislation that will strengthen Wisconsin’s retail theft laws.
