Intel Coming to Central Ohio – Could you be part of the Supply Chain?

In late January of 2022, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced a project that could become the biggest semiconductor operation on Earth.

Intel, which plays a large global role in producing semiconductor chips will invest $20 billion to build two plants in Licking County. This will be Ohio’s largest economic development project to date.

The factories will employ approximately 3,000 with an average salary of $135,000 per year. It is estimated to create an additional 7,000 construction jobs and 10,000 others. Construction begins this year, with the plan to start producing chips by 2025.

The coming of Intel to central Ohio will also benefit small businesses through increased traffic and sales, more patrons for restaurants and bars, and those who are able to be a part of the Intel supply chain.
