In Texas, Small Businesses Won in This Year's General Election

Preliminary results show nearly all of the candidates endorsed by the NFIB Texas PAC came out on top in the Nov. 8 general election. That includes Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and state Attorney General Ken Paxton as well as all three candidates for state Supreme Court who were endorsed by the political action committee, Debra Lehrmann (Place 3), Rebeca Huddle (Place 5) and Evan Young (Place 9). Overall, 86 of the 88 candidates endorsed for seats in the Texas House won on Nov. 8, while all 18 endorsed Senate candidates were elected or reelected. The list of winners includes 11 NFIB members. Meanwhile, 23 of the 24 U.S. House candidates endorsed by the NFIB Federal PAC won, including NFIB member Monica De La Cruz (District 15). “Small business won big in this year’s election,” NFIB State Director Annie Spilman said. “Our members helped elect leaders who understand the challenges facing Texas’ small business community. We look forward to working with all of them to pass legislation that enables small businesses to keep growing and creating jobs.”
