On November 8th, NFIB State Director Mike O’Halloran hosted a successful virtual event with representatives from the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) office for an informative discussion about the program and what small business owners need to know, how it works, and regulatory requirements for your businesses. Regan Vaughan, FAMLI Director of Policy, gave a presentation outlining the FAMLI program and expectations for 2024. The Department is also conducting a research study to better understand businesses’ unique needs and the potential challenges presented by the forthcoming paid leave system. Specifically, responses will assist in the development of software designed for the paid leave insurance system, ensuring it is user-friendly, effective, and tailored to businesses’ needs.
