First Week of the Illinois Fall Veto Session Ends Without Much Action

The first week of the Illinois veto session primarily consisted of closed-door meetings

Illinois legislators returned to Springfield on October 14-16 to consider a number of issues—such as energy policy, tax increases, and public transit changes—but adjourned without voting on any of them.

Most of the business of the week was conducted in closed-door meetings with legislative leaders briefing their caucuses on potential legislation.

State legislators will return to Springfield October 28-30 to resume work and take legislative action on a number of these issue areas.
