The MI Unemployment System is transitioning its software to a new platform

The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency is transitioning its software to a new platform.  MiWAM will becom MiUI.

Between November 7 and December 5, actions in MiWAM will begin to be phased out in preparation for the launch of MiUI. These actions include eRegistration, business transfers, and applications for seasonal employers. The schedule linked HERE lists when services will become unavailable in MiWAM and what to do between that date and the launch of MiUI.

Please review the schedule to learn how, when, and where certain unemployment insurance tasks need to be performed.

Employers and third-party administrators (TPAs) must complete several actions in MiWAM before the MiUI system launch:

  • Confirm you have an Employer MiWAM account.
  • Review and confirm your MiWAM employer account details:
  • Contact information – Address, Phone Number, etc.
  • Payment methods.
  • Permissions of authorized users.
  • Confirm the Employer or TPA account administrators.

For more information about other actions to take each month in preparation for MiUI, please reference and save the Employer Checklist (found HERE) to guide your transition to MiUI.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the UIA Office of Employer Ombudsman at 1-855-484-2636 and select Option 4.
