THE CHALLENGE

– Because of the pandemic-related-layoffs and a massive state accounting error, employers across the Commonwealth are responsible for repaying nearly $5 billion in UI debt.

– Massachusetts is consistently ranked one of the worst UI systems in the nation due to lax eligibility standards, the longest duration, and the second highest weekly maximum benefit.

– By Q4 in 2027 the UI Trust Fund is projected to be insolvent, triggering additional UI tax hikes.

TOPICS COVERED

– What is the UI disaster?

– What is NFIB doing about it?

– What can employers like you do to be a part of the solution?
