Alabama Legislative Session to Begin Jan. 11

The Alabama Legislature will gavel into session at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 11, but neither political party has released its legislative agenda. We’ll get a preview of what’s to come, however, when joint budget hearings begin at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 11. The hearings will offer a look at projected state tax revenues and delve into how officials intend to spend federal dollars the state received under the federal American Rescue Plan Act in fiscal 2023 and beyond. This year’s regular session will end no later than April 26.
