The Voting Record looks at seven key votes on issues important to small businesses

NFIB State Director Leah Long today said that 114 state legislators — 31 senators and 83 representatives — achieved 100% NFIB Voting Records in the 2024-25 legislative session.

“Small business owners need lawmakers who have their backs,” Long said. “This shows our members that Mississippi legislators are committed partners, working to reduce barriers and make it easier for entrepreneurs to succeed.”

The 2024-25 Voting Record looks at seven key votes in both chambers of the legislature on issues important to small businesses, including tax relief, workforce development, and health insurance. Click here to see the full results and an explanation of the issues.

Long said the NFIB Voting Record does not reflect every element considered by a lawmaker when voting, nor does it represent a complete profile of a legislator. It also does not take into account that many of these legislators were very helpful to small businesses in committee.

“These results give small business owners a clear picture of who consistently stood with them,” Long said. “This level of support makes a big difference in whether small businesses can thrive.”
