North Dakota Small Businesses Thank Governor for Focusing on Small Business

NFIB, or the National Federation of Independent Business, released a statement in response to Gov. Burgum’s State of the State address. NFIB’s State Director in North Dakota is Alison Ritter.

“Small business owners across the state are taking comfort knowing that they have a governor who is such a strong advocate for advancing the needs of small business owners,” said Alison Ritter, NFIB State Director in North Dakota. “Gov. Burgum is committed to cutting taxes and holding the line on state spending. He realizes the challenges that small business owners face right now: from worker shortages to supply chain issues  due to inflation.”

According to a recent NFIB survey, a historic number of small businesses are struggling to increase their workforce. Half of all small business owners have reported raising compensation, up two points from December and a 48-year record high. Open positions are at record levels. About half of small businesses say they have already raised wages to hire workers and other 27% plan to in the next 3 months.
