Making the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and reducing burdensome regulations is key
What it means: NFIB Vice President of Federal Government Relations Jeff Brabant talks with C-SPAN’s Washington Journal on the highlights of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and the most pressing issues facing small businesses.
Expert take: “Congress created this 20% deduction, which gets the effective rate a lot lower for those pass-through businesses and gets them a lot closer to the 21% mark, [tax rate paid by larger businesses] but it was scheduled to expire, which would have resulted in a significant tax hike on tens of millions of small business owners. Let’s keep most businesses around the same tax rate so that everyone is treated equally,” said Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations.
