Wisconsin Sen. Ballweg Receives Guardian of Small Business Award
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) presented Wisconsin Senator Joan Ballweg with its 2024 Guardian of Small Business Award (Guardian Award).
NFIB’s Guardian Award recognizes leaders who stand up for and advocate on behalf of small businesses. It is NFIB’s most prestigious legislative award.
Sen. Ballweg is a small business owner and NFIB member. She was selected for the award by a panel of small business owners from across the state.
“Senator Ballweg is a great friend to small business owners and has done an outstanding job fighting for Main Street’s priorities,” said Bill G. Smith, Wisconsin State Director for NFIB. “She has a track record of consistently supporting small businesses and pushes her fellow legislators to consider how taxes and regulations hurt Wisconsin’s small businesses.”
“I am honored to receive the NFIB’s 2023-24 Guardian of Small Business Award,” said Senator Joan Ballweg. “For over 47 years, my husband and I have proudly operated our agribusiness, witnessing firsthand how small and independent businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. I am committed to advocating for entrepreneurs in Wisconsin, driving innovation and creating jobs.”
Ballweg represents the 14th District in the Wisconsin Senate and serves as the Chair of Senate Committee on Agriculture and Tourism and is a member of the Joint Committee on Finance. Additionally, she’s been an exceptional leader on tourism issues in the Wisconsin Senate.
NFIB Wisconsin is the leading small business association in the Badger State, advocating on behalf of its members in both Madison and Washington, DC.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
