The event, co-hosted with the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, gave owners a chance to speak on the issues affecting Main Street

NFIB partnered with the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG) on Feb. 13 to host Small Business Day at the Capitol. The event was held in a conference room at the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Gov. Brian Kemp welcomed participants to the meeting via a pre-recorded video.

Throughout the morning, participants heard from several state leaders, who discussed a host of issues affecting small, independent businesses.

Sen. Larry Walker III, who chairs the Senate Insurance and Labor Committee, also spoke at Small Business Day and later went on the floor of the Senate to announce the passage of Senate Resolution 591 recognizing the day as Small Business Day. He also recognized NFIB members sitting in the Senate Gallery.

“I want to thank Senator Walker, Governor Kemp, and every elected official who took the time to recognize and engage with our members,” NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins said later. “I also want to thank our members for stepping away from their businesses to join us here in Atlanta. NFIB may be the voice of small business, but it’s our members who ensure our voice echoes under the gold dome.”
