WATCH: Gov. Tate Reeves Earns Crucial Small Business Endorsement

The NFIB Mississippi PAC said today it has endorsed Gov. Tate Reeves for a second term. The political action company is comprised entirely of NFIB small business members in Mississippi.

“Governor Reeves is the clear choice for small business in this year’s gubernatorial race,” said NFIB State Director Dawn McVea, who announced the PAC’s endorsement during an event at A Complete Flag Source, an NFIB member business in Jackson.

Governor Reeves said, “We know that small businesses are the key driver of our economy. We need to support them and help build them up in the future. That’s what I’ve always done, and that’s what we’ll do in a second term. I’m grateful for their support as we work to keep up the Mississippi momentum!”

McVea said, “Our members believe Governor Reeves has done an outstanding job leading the state. Governor Reeves really helped Mississippi thread the needle when it came to the pandemic, helping prevent the spread of the virus while ensuring that small businesses could remain open and Mississippians could keep working.

“In his first term as governor, he has proven to be a champion for small business owners from supporting tax cuts to finding ways to cut red tape and address workforce issues,” McVea said. “With his background in the banking sector, he understands the importance of avoiding debt and balancing the state budget. His conservative management as treasurer, lieutenant governor, and governor has helped Mississippi small business owners have better transparency and spending of their tax dollars and even get some of those dollars back.

“On behalf of our small business members, I am proud to announce the NFIB Mississippi PAC’s endorsement of Gov. Tate Reeves for a second term,” McVea said.

Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the governor’s campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to vote. NFIB will encourage its Mississippi members to help turn out the powerful small-business voting bloc on Election Day.
