HOUSTON, Texas (April 2, 2024) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Senator Ted Cruz for re-election to the United States Senate to represent Texas. The endorsement was announced at a campaign event at NFIB member small business Brother’s Pizzeria in Houston.
“Senator Ted Cruz has always been a strong champion of free enterprise and small business,” said Jeff Burdett, NFIB Texas State Director. “As a recipient of NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award, Senator Cruz has a proven record of defending small business owners. Most notably, we appreciate his support for making the Small Business Deduction permanent and preventing a significant tax increase on Texas small businesses. We must send strong champions of free enterprise like Senator Cruz back to Washington.”
“I am proud to be endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business,” said Senator Ted Cruz. “Since my election to the U.S. Senate, my top priority has been jobs. Small businesses are the backbone of our state and are the largest job creators. They are what make our state one of the most important economic powerhouses in the country. I am proud to represent Texas small businesses each and every day and will continue fighting for Texas’ ideals of a free market and limited government.”
“Immigrating from Italy to New York City in 1968, my family came to this country seeking a chance for a better life,” said Silvia Blum, Owner of Brother’s Pizzeria. “We found freedom and opportunity here in Houston, where my dad and uncles started this business 41 years ago. Texas is the small business capital of the world – and that’s no accident. Here, we elect lawmakers who support small businesses and understand the challenges we face. As an NFIB member and small business owner, I’m proud to support Senator Cruz’s re-election.”
“We are pleased to endorse Senator Cruz for re-election today,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “He is a reliable supporter of pro-small business policies, and we are confident that he will continue to prioritize the issues most important to small businesses in the U.S. Senate.”
The endorsement is issued from NFIB FedPAC, NFIB’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by voluntary contributions by NFIB members over and above their membership dues. Decisions made by the NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
