TAKE ACTION: Tell Legislators to Pass Centralized Sales Tax Collection Bill

Louisiana’s sales tax collection system is considered one of the worst in the nation because of its high rates and the complexity of the tax code.

We’re one of only three states without centralized statewide sales tax collection. Over the years, many studies and commissions have recommended Louisiana adopt this type of system.

Our current tax collection is unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming for taxpayers, making it inefficient and creating obstacles to compliance. It also favors out-of-state businesses over Louisiana-based small businesses. It’s time to change that.

Send a message to your state legislators urging them to support legislation to streamline Louisiana’s tax collection system!
