Take Action Against Minimum-Wage Bills Racing to Passage

The Hawaii State Legislature is hellbent on raising the minimum-wage rate at a time when the economic recovery of small business has never been more fragile, and in spite of the fact that Main Street enterprises are offering their employees record highs in compensation.

Senate Bill 2018 and House Bill 2510 both call for raising the minimum-wage rate in steps to $18 an hour. House Bill 2408 calls for annual increases forever after linked to the Consumer Price Index for urban customers.

SB 2018 has made it into the State House and HB 2408 and HB 2510 are primed to sail through their committee stages—unless lawmakers here from you.

We see weekly news reports of so many long-time, local businesses closing their doors for good. Add supply-chain disruptions, increasing inflation, and retail theft into the mix and it’s clear: There has never been a worse time to hit small businesses with minimum-wage increases.

Share your concerns with lawmakers before it’s too late!

Act Now. Act Here.
