NFIB Iowa Ad Campaign Urges Congress to Protect Small Business Privacy

 The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Iowa’s leading small business advocacy organization, announced a new advertising campaign across the Hawkeye State and several other states featuring targeted radio and digital ads that urge Congress to pass the Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act.

The legislation would repeal the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and the beneficial ownership information reporting rule.

“The beneficial ownership reporting requirement is unnecessary and unconstitutional,” said NFIB Iowa State Director Matt Everson. “While a Federal Court blocked the rule, it’s Congress’ responsibility to right their wrong and make the decision permanent by passing the Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act to protect privacy and relieve small business owners from another erroneous regulation.”

In a lawsuit filed by NFIB, a federal court issued a preliminary injunction that blocks the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) from enforcing the CTA’s beneficial ownership information reporting requirements.

NFIB supports the Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act.
