Minnesota House Announces Committee Structure and Co-Chairs

Following an election that is projected to result in a historic 67-67 tie in the Minnesota House of Representatives, House Leadership has announced the committee structure that the House of Representatives will adhere to when it convenes on January 14, 2025.

Representative Lisa Demuth (R-Cold Spring) has been selected to be the Republican Speaker-Designate, while Representative Melissa Hortman (DFL-Brooklyn Park) has been selected to be the DFL Speaker-Designate.

Membership of the 23 standing committees and one division will be equally divided and chaired by DFL and Republican co-chairs. The full committee list and the committee co-chairs are as follows:
