Support Small Businesses During Ohio’s Largest Sales Tax Holiday

This year’s tax holiday is July 30 – August 8

Ohio’s sales tax holiday will run for 10 days this year, from July 30 to August 8, 2024. This will be the largest and longest sales tax holiday in the state’s history and includes more eligible purchases for customers.

“This year’s sales tax holiday is a great opportunity for people to shop at local small businesses and invest in their local economy,” said Chris Ferruso, NFIB Ohio State Director. “Small businesses throughout the state continue to face historic inflation and economic setbacks. By shopping small, small businesses will get a much-needed boost while customers save money.”

The 2024 sales tax holiday will include purchases of nearly all items of up to $500 with limited exceptions.

Visit the Ohio Department of Taxation’s FAQ page for more information on qualifying purchases, applications, and more.
