State Survey Says NFIB Ranks High in Influence, Effectiveness

In a recent survey of nearly 300 Tennessee leadersNFIB ranked fourth most influential in public policy out of 32 ranked organizations. Eighty-six percent of respondents said NFIB had a high or moderate influence on policymaking in Tennessee. NFIB also was ranked fourth (88%) in how often respondents see or hear the work of our organization.

The results affirm that elected officials and decision-makers respect our organization because they know where NFIB members stand, NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. Being the “Voice of Small Business” only works because our members actively and regularly engage lawmakers through NFIB initiatives and surveys, as well as back home in the districts, he said.

“We say it often … it’s easy to break a stick but hard to break a bundle,” Brown said. “NFIB members are definitely a big bundle in Nashville and Washington, D.C., where they have a seat at the table through their membership and activism. We’re proud of this recognition because small business owners are the engine of our economy and leading and giving back to their communities.”
