Maine Capitol Update

State House Activity

Bill Requests – Legislators had a January 10 deadline to file their requests for legislation in the 2025 session. A list of requests by sponsor and subject matter is available here: https://legislature.maine.gov/ros/

Notable Bills Printed – More than 200 bills have been printed as of January 13, including:

  • Increase storm preparedness for Maine communities, homes and infrastructure (LD 1)
  • Require employers to disclose pay ranges (LD 54)
  • Allow a surcharge on customer credit card and debit card transactions (LD 151)
  • Establish a voluntary pass-through entity tax and tax credit (LD 191)
