SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 17, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Jim Patterson for State Assembly.

“In a Legislature with too many false friends of small business. or no friends at all, Assembly Member Jim Patterson stands like a lighthouse for Main Street mom-and-pop enterprises, as his perfect pro-small-business voting record attests,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “The California Legislature could use more members with the experience Jim Patterson brings to the job. He is small businesses’ choice for State Assembly.”

The new 8th Assembly District includes all of Inyo, Mariposa, Mono, and Tuolumne counties and parts of Calaveras, Fresno, and Madera counties.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year.
