WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 11, 2024) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, is hosting its annual Washington, D.C. Fly-In this week on Capitol Hill. Small business owners are traveling to the nation’s capital to attend advocacy programs and meet with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to share their stories and discuss the top issues they are facing, including making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and advocating for the repeal of the burdensome Beneficial Ownership reporting requirements.

“The small business economy continues to face significant challenges and the policies coming out of Washington aren’t making it any better,” said NFIB President Brad Close. “During the week, small business owners will have the opportunity to speak with lawmakers directly about the importance of the Small Business Deduction and more issues that impact their everyday business operations. We look forward to connecting with Members of Congress and sharing Main Street stories.”

NFIB President Brad Close penned a new op-ed in the Washington Times this week highlighting the top issues small business owners will speak with members of Congress about.

Small business owners will be advocating for two main issues:

• The passage of the Main Street Tax Certainty Act will stop a massive tax hike on small businesses and make the Small Business Deduction permanent before it expires in 2025.
• The passage of the Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act would repeal the Corporate Transparency Act and the beneficial ownership reporting requirements.
