Many changes might be on the horizon, so NFIB’s Federal Government Relations team held a webinar to review what happened in Congress that impacted small businesses in 2024 and provide a look ahead for what is to come.

NFIB Director of Federal Government Relations Josh McLeod gives an overview of regulatory burdens including a victory on the DOL Overtime rule being struck down. 2024 was also filled with many testimonies, Congressional Review Act letters on small business issues, and work on the Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act, related to beneficial ownership reporting.

Vice President of Federal Government Relations Jeff Brabant lays out some expectations for 2025 including budget reconciliation and what expiring tax provisions mean for small business. The 20% Small Business Deduction is set to expire in 2025, which would cause a massive tax hike for nine out of 10 small businesses.

Watch the full webinar on-demand for a Q&A session and to get expert knowledge on what to expect for small business issues in 2025. Take action along with other small business owners on NFIB’s number one priority to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.
