REPORT: Economic Uncertainty is Crushing Texas Small Business Owners

In a conversation with the Denton Record-Chronicle, NFIB State Director Annie Spilman outlined the myriad of challenges small business owners face, including inflation, supply chain woes, regulation, and rising property taxes. “It’s sort of everything coming at them — it’s really kind of the perfect storm right now […] They don’t know if they’re going to be able to staff from week to week, they don’t know if they’re going to be able to get their inventory in from week to week, and most don’t have cash reserves on hand.” In the story, Spilman noted that NFIB is fighting on behalf of small business owners in the Texas Legislature by pushing for inventory tax relief and regulatory consistency.
