Reminder: New York State Mandated Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Required Every Year

Under New York State law, all employers, regardless of size, must complete interactive sexual harassment prevention training with all current employees at least once per year. This may be based on the calendar year, anniversary of each employee’s start date, or any other date the employer chooses. New employees should be trained as quickly as possible. New York State law does not exempt remote workers. Every employer in New York State is required to adopt a sexual harassment prevention policy and training. An employer that does not adopt the model policy or training must ensure that the policy and training they adopt meets or exceeds the following minimum standards. The New York Department of Labor provides compliant model policies and training resources for employers. The resources are free to use and are available for download.
