Results help center NFIB’s lobbying agenda in Olympia

Your Opinion on Three Questions Sought

An email with ballot information was sent to you. If you haven’t already, please use it to express your opinion on three issues the Washington State Legislature will be grappling with in 2025.

Unique among business associations, NFIB annually polls its members on state and federal issues vital to their ability to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. Results from the member ballots center NFIB’s lobbying position in Olympia and in Washington, D.C. It’s because of this method, elected officials and other policymakers from coast to coast consider NFIB to be the true voice of small business.

The 2025 NFIB Washington-member ballot asked three questions:

  • Should small businesses be required to implement workplace violence prevention plans and training?
  • Should state Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) premiums be applied to small employers?
  • Should PFML job protection requirements apply to all employers, regardless of size?

The ballot contains background information and proponents’ and opponents’ comments on each of the issues. Please vote your ballot. The Washington State Legislature returns for business on January 13, 2025.
