State Director Julia Hammond says the Optimism Index for October reflects the challenges facing many of the state’s Main Street businesses.

“Small business owners may be a bit more optimistic, but they still face big challenges.

“High prices, weak sales, and problems finding qualified job applicants make it hard for them to predict what might happen in the short term.”
