NFIB Urges Lawmakers to Post Notices Online

NFIB State Director Chris Ferruso today urged the House Commerce and Labor Committee to pass Senate Bill 96, a measure that would let employers post Ohio labor law notices online as well as in the workplace. Under current law, labor law notices must be posted “in a conspicuous place in or about the premises.” “With a large share of employees across Ohio now working on a remote or hybrid basis, the ability to access this information online would be a positive step as employers continue to adapt to an ever-increasing digital world,” Ferruso said. “Furthermore, this legislation would provide greater ease of access to employees as they would have the opportunity to view workplace notices anywhere from their personal or work computers or cell phones without having to be at the physical location where the posters are located,” he said. “We believe Senate Bill 96 may increase employee awareness and access to these posters.”
