NFIB Texas Recognizes Rep. Burrows as a ‘Guardian of Small Business’

January 26, 2024 Last Edit: July 18, 2024

The Guardian of Small Business award, one of NFIB’s most coveted and prestigious honors, is given to legislators to recognize their efforts to support small business issues.

LUBBOCK (Jan. 26, 2023) – “Throughout his time in the Texas Legislature, Rep. Dustin Burrows has been a friend to Main Street,” NFIB State Director Jeff Burdett said. “Our members are grateful to Rep. Burrows for championing the Texas Regulatory Consistency Act, which will make it easier to do business across the state. As a small business owner and NFIB member, Rep. Burrows is no stranger to the challenges our job creators face, which is why he has earned a 100% voting record on small business issues. We thank him for standing up for Texas small businesses.”

Burrows-Guardian-2024Background:

For five years, NFIB Texas has fought on behalf of small business owners against the patchwork of regulations that make it more difficult for Texas employers to operate their businesses. The Texas Regulatory Consistency Act was signed into law by Governor Abbott in June 2023. The House approved the bill on a bipartisan basis in April, before the bill advanced out of the Senate in May.
