NFIB/Sedgwick Safety Training Opportunities

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) requires Group and Group Retrospective Rating Program employers to complete two hours of safety training if they experienced a workers’ compensation claim between July 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021 (also known as the “green period”). Safety training for the 2022 Fall Unemployment Webinars2022 BWC policy year must be completed between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023. NFIB, in partnership with Sedgwick, is holding in-person sessions to meet requirements in safety training in sessions on Workplace Safety: Slips, Trips, and Falls & Occupational Noise Exposure/Hearing Conservation in five convenient locations. The registration form can be found here. Additionally, NFIB and Sedgwick are currently offering the following webinars listed below to help you satisfy this BWC safety training requirement. Electrical Safety & Roofing Safety Friday, October 14, 2022, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT   Fire Prevention Planning & Training Requirements in OSHA Standards Monday, October 24, 2022, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm EDT   Radiation and Non-Ionizing Radiation Safety & Occupational Fatigue Tuesday, November 8, 2022, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT   Violence in the Workplace & Cold Weather Hazards and Prevention Friday, November 18, 2022, 9:00 am – 11:00 am EDT   Confined Space Safety & Evaluating and Controlling Exposure to Asbestos Tuesday, December 6, 2022, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT   Basic Ergo Practices for Small Business & The Human Side of Workplace Accidents and Prevention Monday, December 12, 2022, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm EDT   Webinar Registration Enter the above-listed registration web link in your web browser or send an email to nfib2hourtraining@sedgwick.com with the date of the webinar you wish to attend at which time you will receive an email with the registration link for you to register.  Finally, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to connect to the webinar on that day. A $25 fee will be invoiced to the registered email after completing the webinar. BWC Safety Training To fulfill the training requirement through BWC, you may also complete a BWC safety course. For more information, contact the BWC Division of Safety & Hygiene at www.bwc.ohio.gov. If you attend a BWC course, you are required to submit proof of completion to us. Certificates of completion, including your company name and BWC policy number, should either be emailed to nfib2hourtraining@sedgwick.com or faxed to 614.932.1507.
