NFIB Releases New Ad in Iowa Urging Congress to Stop Massive Tax Hike on Small Businesses

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, announced a new, national paid advertising campaign in Iowa featuring a radio ad urging members of Congress to stop the massive tax hike on small businesses by passing the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent. Listen to the NFIB Small Business Deduction 30-second radio ad here: https://youtu.be/d3mk0MUX9aE “Small businesses are the foundation of our economy, yet more than 30 million of them are about to face a massive tax hike that would hurt their ability to create jobs and give back to their communities,” said NFIB President Brad Close. “Suddenly removing tax savings will decimate America’s small businesses, who have used the 20% Small Business Deduction to overcome significant hurdles like inflation, hiring shortages, and supply chain disruptions. The Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and avoid a massive tax hike on nine out of 10 small businesses.  Congress must pass the Main Street Tax Certainty Act now to level the playing field and help small businesses compete.” “The Main Street Tax Certainty Act is crucial for Iowa’s small businesses,” said NFIB State Director Matt Everson. “This legislation would make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent, preventing a significant tax hike that could hinder our state’s economic growth. It’s essential for Congress to pass this act and provide the necessary support for our local small business owners.” The 20% Small Business Deduction was created as a part of the 2017 tax law to level the playing field between small businesses and larger corporations. It has empowered small business owners to overcome the economic challenges of the last few years – but it’s set to expire at the end of 2025. The Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and avoid a massive tax hike on a majority of America’s small businesses.
