NFIB Oregon Holds Small Business Day

In preparation for the February 1 opening of the 2022 session of the Oregon State Legislature, NFIB Oregon hosted a virtual Small Business Day on January 19 to apprise its members of the top issues.

The session will only be 35 days long, so activity will be fast and furious, making preparedness vital. The top four goals of small business will be:

• No tax increases or new taxes on Oregon’s small businesses
• Oppose efforts to subject business owners to more lawsuits
• Ensure Oregon businesses have access to reliable, affordable energy
• Protect essential rural Oregon industries, like farming and ranching

Following the Small Business Day event, NFIB Oregon arranged for members to visit individual legislators to press the Main Street case. In addition to that, NFIB is urging members to send a message to lawmakers sharing their stories through this convenient link.

Couldn’t make this year’s Small Business Day? Your involvement is still needed. Please email Senior Grassroots Manager Stacy Jenkins, stacy.jenkins@nfib.org, for information on how you can help spread the small-business message.

As an NFIB member, you are part of an organization that is working to defend your right to own, operate and grow your business by levelling the playing field with Big Business, Big Government and Big Labor. Part of the value of your NFIB membership is access to our outstanding events with local, state, and federal lawmakers.
